The Whisperer In Darkness (2018 HorrorBabble Audiobook)

Lots of background info and names from/of the Cthulhu Mythos.

I find it quite interesting as it slowly builds up in a series of letters back-and-forth between the narrator and a “colleague” of his that seems to be gaining odd bits of knowledge more and more over time.

It’s obvious that there will be such a buildup by the initial declarations of the narrator, and by seeing how much time is remaining in the audiobook at various points.

To be clear, I don’t find it “exciting” or really “scary”…but certainly interesting.

Interesting description of “The Outer Ones” amidst a lurking (overly)friendliness and serious self-and-humanwide-abasement.

Nice creepiness, I think, if you don’t try to figure it out and just allow it to develop in ignorance.

The reason to listen to this rather than watch the movie is that THIS allows full imagination (and Ian Gordon’s got a great voice).

I mean, “indescribable” things are better heard of than seen, since if you see them you can kinda describe them, eh?

Neville Shunt would love some extended train portions, too.

From beyond, indeed.
