A Derogatorial – By Puppy

Some random freak recently used the words “gay” and “fag” at least half a dozen times to describe me, my friends, tattoos, and pretty much anything else he could think of.

Now, the amateur psychologist in me has a theory about this. (And it’s mine).

When someone attempts to make fun of someone, generally they’ll pick a subject they believe is the most “sensitive” to that person.  I’ve learned this through years and years of being bullied.  (Bullies also tend to be cowards when confronted with ANY resistance whatsoever, but that’s another topic).

Since he couldn’t come up with anything except “gay”, which I admit I used to use in a derogatorial (His word, not mine…Das, if you critique another person’s grammar, you really shouldn’t make up words.  I’m disgustipated) sense when I was…oh, I don’t know…11 or 12, the conclusion is two-fold.

Number one, he’s not particularly intelligent and/or imaginative.  Watching his EXCITING youtube videos is solid empirical evidence of this. (I meant that in a sarcasticatical sense).

Number two, as we all know, those that make frequent derogatorialishistic comments concerning homosexuals/homosexuality are often doing so as a sort of macho preventative measure of being “labeled” the same. (Or they’re wondering what exactly nucular weapons are, but that’s another topic).

Now, why would one be so afraid to be labeled homosexual?

Perhaps, as in a lot of cases, said individual has certain…feelings (nudge nudge) inside that he can’t quite understand/come to terms with/accept/derogatorialize.  In plain terms, he has certain…urges, towards other men (wink wink), that he is perhaps afraid of and doesn’t want people to suspect, so he covers them by being around women as MUCH as possible (Cuz everyone knows homosexuals never hang around women, or have sex with them, or get married and have children) and by using the word “gay” in a DEROGATORY (Das, see?) sense.  It’s ok, Das…you can stop. (Andy Dick called…he wants you to tone it down a little).

P.S. – People that think they’re so harda$$ and do really fcked up sh1t and everyone thinks they’re “bravely anarchistic/individualistic” sometimes are…but in some cases, it’s all BS hiding a cowardly nature.  I mean…put that freak in jail and he’d stop making jokes.  He’d stop holding his bladder/bowel movements.  And I’m sure someone would be glad to oblige him in exploring his sublimated desires. (SAY NO MORE!)

Das But = Das (Sad) Punk

Also, one last thing…I think from now on, whenever someone gets completely torn to shreds (metaphorically speaking) and is asked what happened, they should say, regarding how they feel about having their smug little nose (where applicable) rubbed in it – “I got Dassed, man”.

Interesting Info – ‘Jar Of Flies’

“…According to Staley, the title for the album came
from a science experiment Cantrell conducted in third
grade: “They gave him two jars full of flies. One of
the jars they overfed, the other jar they underfed.
The one they overfed flourished for a while, then all
the flies died from overpopulation. The one they
underfed had most of the flies survive all year.
I guess there’s a message in there somewhere.
Evidently that experiment had a big impact on Jerry.”…”

Ok, so I suppose this is sort of like the “Homosexual Agenda”, where every homosexual is part of a vast conspiracy to paint everything rainbow?

Come on…in every case, good bad or neutral or anywhere in between, it’s the person, not the idea.

Bombard a decent person with terrible horror movies (Believe me, I know, if you’ve read some of my movie reviews) and it won’t turn them psycho.

Give a psycho the slightest provocation, or even none at all…they’ll make one up…and they’ll do fcked up sh1t.

I mean, are we gonna ban dogs after “Son of Sam”?

And I agree…this definitely does not make me want to have sex with a walrus.  Or eat Skittles.

“My Lack Of God, It’s Trotsky!”

The comparison of Atheists to “non-skiers” is flawed, in that non-skiers don’t ski, but they don’t necessarily “disbelieve” in skiing, or in the existence of the act of skiing, whether they themselves ski or not.

The attitude of the Crusading Atheist, as observed by Albert Einstein, Neil DeGrasse Tyson and others, is I believe this…

A Crusading Atheist who goes out of his/her way to “inform” believers how “deluded” they are is EXACTLY the same as a Crusading *Insert Name Of Faith Here* who goes out of his/her way to “inform” unbelievers how “doomed” they are.  Basically, they become what they are screaming so strongly against.

Or, look at it this way…let’s say, in your mind, you KNOW the Easter Bunny doesn’t exist.  I’m not comparing religion to fairy tales, but Crusading Atheists do, and so I’m just using their own “logic”.
So, you “know” that the Easter Bunny doesn’t exist.  The role of the Crusading Anti-Easter-Bunny-Theist is to inform all small children all over the world that, while believing in the Easter Bunny may give them comfort and joy, it is their DUTY to inform them how deluded they are, on mere PRINCIPLE.  “You, little girl…how can you believe in it when you’ve never seen it??!! They’re just fooling you!  WAKE UP!!!!” *Little girl cries* “Ahhh…my work here is done.”

Nice people, huh?

As to the notion that religion is harmful and the Easter Bunny is not, and therefore on that basis alone religion should be done away with, the LOGICAL facts do not support this.  And, since Fervent Atheism is supposedly based on “logic”, it is self-contradictory.  To say that removing religion from the world would remove much conflict from the world is true.  It is also true that if we removed politics from the world, conflict would be removed.  It is also true that if everyone was the same race, we would remove conflict from the world.  It is also true that if everyone was genetically engineered at birth to “love” who they are and what they do, no matter how horrible their life is, we would remove conflict from the world.  And that if we all took “happy pills”, we would remove conflict from the world.  And if we therefore modeled our society on Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’, the world would be a peaceful, gentle, harmonious place.  By the same token, if we all loved “Big Brother” and stopped thinking for ourselves altogether as in Orwell’s ‘1984’, the world would be a peaceful, gentle, harmonious, tranquil place.

“Mission Accomplished…What’s Next?” … “Hurting the ones you know and love?  Chasing rabbits on a minibike until their hearts explode?”

We would also cease to exist as legitimate life forms and would be nothing more than organic robots.

People do fcked up sh1t because they’re scumbags, where applicable.  Religion is just one excuse…JUST ONE EXCUSE…there are millions of others! (Guess the sketch and win a prize).
We can’t get rid of them all unless we want to become identical mindless drones.

Me, I’ll take the inherent conflicts that come with freedom of religion, thought, and expression.

5/10/16: Assuming the (impossibly) complete success of Antitheism, the end result moved towards (in one way of many ways possible, see above) as described by a logical Theist (My Lack-Of-God I LOVE using this quote…): “This is a soulless society, Captain. It has no spirit, no spark. All is indeed peace and tranquility: the peace of the factory, the tranquility of the machine. All parts working in unison.” – Spock

5/10/16: CLARIFICATION FOR CA/A’S: Spock is using the words “soul” and “spirit” in the metaphorical sense, not the strictly and pedantically literal, “religious” sense…something made clear by the rest of his statement. And if you think all words must be used always and only according to their strict literal meanings, you have some serious vocabulary editing to do. Words are used to convey feelings, beliefs, impressions, etc…therefore, an imperfect word that captures the feeling and belief well is MORE appropriate than a perfect word that does not.

If you don’t agree with that…well, stop reading 95 percent of the books ever written. And for the love of God/lack-of-God, stop watching “comedy”…I mean, a lot of that is BASED ON improper use of words. We are not amused.

5/10/16: “Pedantic” is my current word-du-jour. Of course, I probably didn’t really NEED to say that…

In Descending Order Of Profundity

“Love, and do what you will” – Saint Augustine

“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law” – Aleister Crowley

“An it harm none, do what ye will” – Wiccan Rede

“I like to rip off smarter people” – Anton LaVey

The first is the most difficult to follow, the second is the most difficult to interpret and determine, the third is a nice compromise, and the fourth is a hack.

Is there anyone in the world, honestly, that has read both ‘The Satanic Bible’ and ‘Hagakure’ that actually BELIEVES the former is more profound than the latter?  (Conditions:  All contestants must be over the age of 21 and have the ability to read/compare/think).

It’s like looking at the work of a brilliant artist after seeing your three-year-old’s latest stick-figure scribble masterpiece…everyone else might SAY they like the scribble better, but you know deep down in your reasonable mind that while you might find it charming for subjective reasons…that’s all.

This Is Always Just The Case

“People are monogamous only because they’re told to be by society/are repressing their own sexuality/don’t want to risk losing one person by being with another.”

“People are polyamorous only because they’re too ugly/stupid/weird/boring to have anyone actually want to exclusively date them.”

Both of the above are false.

The difference is, believing the first is often thought of as “progressive”.

Making blanket judgements and labels is just as ignorant when it’s done by a minority.

I LIKE my sense of wonder.

“The windows open
and the little girl dreams
The sky’s her playground
as she mounts her steed
Across the heavens

On wings of magic
does the little girl ride.

The baby creatures

Back to the nest
just like the days of old
There in the safety
of a mother’s arms
The warmth of ages,
far away from harm again.”

Counterpoint

While I admittedly can’t provide any empirical “evidence” as to the existence or non-existence of God, as an Agnostic (yes, I know the difference between Atheist and Agnostic) and a fervent Anti-Anti-Theist, here is some conclusive and indisputable evidence of the existence of ill effects of mandated Atheism…

“Hundreds of thousands of the new people, and later the depositees, were taken out in shackles to dig their own mass graves.
Then the Khmer Rouge soldiers beat them to death with iron bars
and hoes, or buried them alive. A Khmer Rouge extermination prison directive ordered, “Bullets are not to be wasted.” These mass
graves are often referred to as “The Killing Fields”…
The Khmer Rouge also classified people by religion and ethnic
group. They banned all religion and dispersed minority groups,
forbidding them to speak their languages or to practice their customs. They especially targeted Buddhist monks, Muslims, Christians, Western-educated intellectuals, educated people in general, people who had contact with Western countries or with Vietnam, disabled people…

Confessions forced at S-21 were extracted from prisoners through
such methods as raising prisoners by their arms tied behind and
dislocating shoulders, removing toenails with pliers, suffocating a prisoner repeatedly and skinning a person while alive.” – Wikipedia
on Pol Pot, Atheist.

“Mussolini was an admirer of Friedrich Nietzsche. According to Denis Mack Smith, “In Nietzsche he found justification for his crusade against the Christian virtues of humility, resignation, charity, and goodness.” He valued Nietzsche’s concept of the superman, “The supreme egoist who defied both God and the masses, who despised egalitarianism and democracy, who believed in the weakest going to the wall and pushing them if they did not go fast enough.”
He believed that socialists who were Christian or who accepted religious marriage should be expelled from the party. He denounced the Catholic Church for “its authoritarianism and refusal to allow freedom of thought…”” – Wikipedia on Benito Mussolini, Atheist.

I find the comments about “freedom of thought” particularly ironic given Mussolini’s fascist ideology.

“Although raised in the Georgian Orthodox faith, Stalin was an atheist. Stalin followed the position adopted by Lenin that religion was an opiate that needed to be removed in order to construct the ideal communist society. His government promoted
atheism through special atheistic education in schools, anti-religious propaganda, the antireligious work of public institutions…
discriminatory laws, and a terror campaign against religious
believers. By the late 1930s it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion. Stalin’s role in the fortunes of the Russian Orthodox Church is complex. Continuous persecution in the 1930s resulted in its near-extinction as a public institution: by 1939, active parishes numbered in the low hundreds (down from 54,000 in 1917), many churches had been leveled, and tens of thousands of priests, monks and nuns were persecuted and killed. Over 100,000 were shot during the purges of 1937–1938” – Wikipedia on Joseph Stalin, Atheist.

Exchange of the Day

Gee, the lack of humility before nature that’s being displayed here, uh… staggers me.

Well thank you, Dr. Malcolm, but I think things are a little bit different than you and I had feared…

Yeah, I know. They’re a lot worse.

Now, wait a second, we haven’t even seen the park…

No, Donald, let him talk. There’s no reason… I want to hear every viewpoint, I really do.

Don’t you see the danger, John, inherent in what you’re doing here?
Genetic power is the most awesome force the planet’s ever seen,
but you wield it like a kid that’s found his dad’s gun.

It’s hardly appropriate to start hurling generalizations…

I’ll tell you the problem with the scientific power you’re using
here: it didn’t require any discipline to attain it. You read what
others had done, and you took the next step. You didn’t earn the
knowledge for yourselves, so you don’t take any responsibility for
it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something
as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you,
you’ve patented it, and packaged it, you’ve slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now

[pounds table with fists]
you’re selling it.
[pounds table again]
You want to sell it, well…

I don’t think you’re giving us our due credit. Our scientists have done things which nobody’s ever done before…

Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.

Condors! Condors are on the verge of extinction…

No…

If I was to create a flock of condors on this island, you wouldn’t have anything to say.

No. Hold on. This isn’t some species that was obliterated by deforestation, or, or the building of a dam. Dinosaurs had their shot, and nature selected them for extinction.

I simply don’t understand this Luddite attitude, especially from a
scientist! I mean, how can we stand in the light of discovery, and
not act?

What’s so great about discovery? It’s a violent, penetrative act that scars what it explores. What you call discovery, I call the rape of the natural world.”

Why The Bruins Should Trade Tim Thomas

Look at Martin Brodeur.  Four time Vezina winner, one of the greatest goalies ever…but look at him now at age 39.  It’s kind of sad.

Thomas is 38.  He plays an unorthodox style that depends on extreme flexibility, athleticism, and pinpoint reactions.  He’s got a year left, maybe two.  Noone defeats age.

Also, his favorite person to have dinner with is Glenn Beck, if you need a personal reason.

Tuukka Rask is 25 years old.  He’s tested in the NHL, including the playoffs.  His numbers the past two seasons have been comparable to Thomas’.  He’s THIRTEEN years younger.

Am I the only one that isn’t blind here?  Trade Thomas while he has value, get a goalie that is used to being a backup, and put Rask in net next year.  In exchange, we get a forward who can actually score, or an upgrade on our (GAG) third defense pair.  I mean, come on…it’s just common sense.

I’m a big B’s fan…but Thomas is nearly done.  Let’s not go the way of the Celtics and have him fade away like the Big Three while getting NOTHING back for him.

The “Yap Yap” Hypothetical

“Well, you don’t know that the universe wasn’t created by a flying bowl of pasta either…do you consider that a reasonable possibility?”

No.  See Atheist Bill Maher’s quote on “doubt”.

It’s really impossible to have a discussion on logic and reasonable possibility with someone whose position is, by definition, satire.  A joke.  It’s hard to argue against a joke…because then they think you don’t get it.  But sometimes jokes just aren’t very FUNNY…

The validity of DH’s recent “Clean Hockey” stance

“Late in the deciding Game 6 of the 1993 Patrick Division Semifinals between the Capitals and New York Islanders, Pierre Turgeon stole the puck from Hunter and scored, putting the game out of reach. Hunter, who was trailing Turgeon on the play, checked Turgeon well after the goal as he started to celebrate. Turgeon sustained a separated shoulder from the hit, causing him to miss all but Game 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round, as well as most of the series against the Montreal Canadiens in the conference finals. New NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, who had earlier promised to crack down on violence, suspended Hunter for the first 21 games of the 1993-94 season — at the time, the longest suspension in league history for an on-ice incident (in terms of games missed). Years later, Hunter admitted that he’d gone too far.

With amassing a staggering 3565 penalty minutes, Hunter currently has the second-most penalty minutes in NHL history…When the Capitals retired his No. 32 jersey, he was presented with the penalty box from the demolished Capital Centre at the retirement ceremony. Hunter is the only NHL player ever to score over 1,000 points and rack up over 3,000 penalty minutes (1,020 points and 3,565 PIMs over 1,407 NHL games).”

“Faith for good reason arises out of the mystery that underlies
the very structure and nature of reality, a mystery that in its
entirety will never be entirely demystified despite what those who
have placed reason on their altar might like us to believe. The
mystery of life that gives rise to faith as a supra-rational means
of unlocking life’s mystery—one that reason does not hold the key to—suggests that faith is fundamentally rational in that it is a
logical response to the mysterious.” – Swami Tripurari

Advice I should have taken

If someone tells you that in the past, for years, they were knowingly and intentionally a horrible person…that they used people like toys for their own amusement and then tossed them aside when they ceased to be “amusing” to them, were vicious, cruel, knowingly and willingly sadistic, and that they pretended to be a “normal” person and acted as such in order to fool people into trusting their intentions as a “nice” person so as to gain their confidence so that they could play with their heads and then laugh about it…

BUT says they’re “much better now”…

Be just a BIT cautious concerning them.

He Said I Could

“Nothing is original.
Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your
imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery — celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from — it’s where you take them to.”” – Jim Jarmusch
